Our Favorite Stores for Shoes! | Senior Tips

Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world.
-Marilyn Monroe

The right shoes may not help you conquer the world, but they sure can boost your confidence! They can also elevate simple outfits to more stylish ensembles, and help even inexpensive pieces look chic and polished. We know great shoes can be hard to come by, so we have rounded up some of our favorite styles and stores to help you on your hunt!

Screen Shot 2016-04-18 at 12.27.01 PMZappos: We know this one is sort of obvious, but their lightning fast shipping (seriously, we get our shoes in barely two days!) and free returns are pretty great. They also have a live chat feature where a customer service rep is always available for you without putting you on hold. We also love their huge variety of shoes, especially trendy fringe sandals and boots. Our pick for Zappos is the Steve Madden lace up flat, which goes with everything from skinny jeans to dresses.

Modcloth: We love Modcloth for dresses, tops and vintage inspired skirts, but they have a little-known shoe section that is killer! Most of what they carry are pairs under $50, and they are really cute. Beware the quality, but they also have great returns and it can be worth it to snag a less expensive pair of shoes. Our pick is the Adventure Essentials bootie which is only $49 and is so, so cute!

Thred Up: Well, we love this site for many reasons, including that they are an Screen Shot 2016-04-18 at 12.34.20 PMawesome way to recycle your clothes and shoes, and they are so easy to buy and return from. But we also love their wide selection of used designer shoes at crazy low prices. Be sure to read the descriptions carefully for the flaws or condition of the items, and you can score great pieces. These black pumps (right) are a great example…they are over $80 on Macy’s and are just $22 gently used on ThredUp.

Target is also a great place to find shoes. They now carry collaborations with Sam and Libby, and their regular house brand shoes are adorable as well. Their prices are very good, and they often have discounts on their Cartwheel app or online coupons. For example, the Sam Edelman Ghillie sandal is over $100 on Nordstrom.com, and this Arianna Sam and Libby (which is the lower end line produced by Sam Edelman) sandal is nearly identical and is just $30! Check out their similar pieces to the regular Sam Edelman line when you find pair you love!
