Food Friday {Yummy muffins and Demarle at Home}

I was so excited when we walked out Monday morning and there was a little chill in the air!  Fall is just around the corner and I can’t wait.  Once the weather starts changing I dream of all things fall…jeans and sweaters, colorful leaves, cool days, the smell of cinnamon, apple picking, and pumpkin!  I was recently introduced to Demarle at Home by my new neighbor and friend, Carla.  I couldn’t wait to try out the muffin tray I bought and found this delicious recipe for Pumpkin Butterscotch Muffins.  Full of pumpkin and butterscotch chips…perfect for fall, YUMMY and it’s hard to eat just one. (Right Carla? LOL!)

Here’s a little interview with Carla as she talks more about the Demarle at Home products and shares why she loves them so much.  (And thank you to Carla for making the batch of muffins that is featured in this post. :))

How did you first hear about Demarle at Home?  I first heard of Demarle at Home in February 2012. I was talking to a close friend on the phone and telling her that I wanted to find a cooking/baking product that was different from the non-stick baking trays and muffin pans that I had been using for years. She had recently been to a Demarle party and was in love with the products and told me that I had to try them and she was sure that I would love them to.
I had never heard of Demarle at Home until recently and now I am hooked! Tell me a little about the products and what the company stands for. What makes the products unique?  I’m so glad that you love the products. The goal of Demarle at Home is to bring families back to the table with simple recipes that bring spectacular results . Demarle is the original creator of the Silpat which was designed in 1960 by Guy Demarle, a French Chemist who then founded the Company. Chefs throughout France started using the products in bakeries and restaurants and loved the results. In 2004, Demarle began selling through home parties in the United States. Our Silpat and Flexipan molds and trays are all made of food-grade silicone and woven glass which work together to make the products completely non-stick. This also means that you never need to add any grease, oil or sprays to your pans which allows you to have a nonstick and healthier way of cooking.
What made you want to become a representative?  I decided to become a Representative of Demarle at Home before I had even tried the products. I knew that if my friend loved it I would probably really like it also. I also quickly realized what a great opportunity it was as there were only a few Representatives in the area that I lived. Once I received my first products and began cooking with them I was amazed with the results and excited to cook more and more.
What is your favorite Demarle at Home product?  My favorite Demarle product. I think this is a 3-way tie right now. I love the Silpat and use it every single day, whether we’re making cookies, dinner or roasting vegetables, everything cooks up so nicely. I also love the Muffin Flexipan Tray that was used to make these muffins pictured.  Our muffins and cupcakes turn out shiny, pretty and moist and bake up fuller than before. Lastly I love the Silform Bread Trays! My family is so happy when I’m making a batch of submarine sandwiches for a “Make Your Own Sub” dinner or using a loaf for fresh garlic bread with pasta! So yummy.
On a busy weeknight, what is your go-to dinner using your Demarle cookware/bakeware? On a busy weeknight my favorite go to Demarle product is again the silpat and the large round mold. I really like how chicken breasts cook up and stay really moist on the Silpat and I can throw some fresh veggies into the Round Mold, cover with an Octoganal Silpat and pop into the microwave to steam up perfectly in about 3-4 minutes. The other night we made individual pizzas on some fresh naan bread which turned out really nicely as well.

Random Questions 🙂

We have spent the last 15 years moving to different duty stations with the Marine Corps. I’m so glad to be back near my family and friends but am not so thrilled to deal with the crazy traffic on the 95 again.

Favorite time of year?  Fall is my absolute favorite time of the year! I love trips to the Pumpkin Patch or Apple Picking with the family. I love the cool mornings and crispness in the air and all the colors that Fall brings

And of course we have to have pictures of the delicious muffins!  (I thought the muffin in the top left was funny because it looks like half of a jack-o-lantern face.  LOL!  But believe me these muffins aren’t scary.  They are delicious!!!  Enjoy…
