This week’s Food Friday post features a very special guest baker (who also happens to be my favorite 10 year old in the whole world!) Last summer, she discovered a book series at the library called, Confectionately Yours. She recently read the 3rd book in the series, Confectionately Yours: Sugar and Spice. Here is her review of the book:
Confectionately Yours: Sugar and Spice is a very good book because it uses real-life situations. It is a great book for people who love sweets because after three or four chapters you get a recipe to try. I would recommend this book and series to anyone I know.
The book contains several delightful sounding recipes and we decided to try the Peppermint Patty Cupcakes with Peppermint Frosting. Even though it didn’t turn out quite as planned (some cupcakes got stuck in the muffin cups) we made the best of it and decided to make individual trifle-like desserts instead of all cupcakes. It was delicious with the rich chocolate cake and cool peppermint frosting layered together! I’m sure I shouldn’t share the actual recipe here but if you are interested you can check out the series!
And here is my special guest baker at work…
